EXPERIMENT - In adults, however there are few treatment options, which led U.S. researchers to try the way of game therapy. Preliminary data obtained on 20 individuals aged between 20 and 60 years are encouraging. In practice, participants were asked to play an action game in which they had to hit a target or a game where the aim was to build things, all having good eye bandaged. In both cases it was found an increase of 30 per cent of visual acuity after just 40 hours spent playing. In some individuals there was also an improvement of depth perception. The counter that the benefits were a result of time spent playing, not the bandage, the researchers have obtained another small experiment in which they asked some participants to put a good eye patch for 20 hours during normal daily activities such as watching television, reading, surfing the Web. Well in this case, there have been improvements, but when these same individuals have also made the video game therapy had benefits.
PLASTICITY - "We know for some time that any challenging visual activity and protracted tends to improve acuity in the eyes of amblyopic adults.
