TELEMARKETING: HOW TO JOIN THE REGISTER OF OPPOSITION.

From February 1, 2011 all users of telephone lines will again be at risk of real harassment.
to give the green light to what we called "telemarketing wild, in fact, the Government provisions, the law n.166 of 20 November 2009, unlike other European countries, and contrary to the directions of the Privacy, introduced in Italy the system of so-called opt-out.
In practice, unlike the old regulations, which stipulated that only citizens could be contacted who had expressly given their consent (according to the opt-in system), today, new (opt-out) that all those who do not wish to be disturbed, have to apply for membership in the "log of the opposition."
What worries us greatly, however, is the absolute lack of information surrounding this matter, specifically with regard to registration procedures and operation of such registers.

How to apply to the registry.
Each user can request that the numbering of which the holder is registered in the mode through free and easy to use, by:

compiling electronic form on the website of the registry public www.registrodelleopposizioni.it

phone, calling from the phone line with numbers corresponding to that for which registration is sought, the toll-free number specially set up by the registry 800,265,265. The system provides for the possibility for the subscriber to obtain non-automated telephone assistance in case of difficulties or problems registering or modifying or deleting data;

by sending a letter or fax;

by email.

You can see our methods in detail and find all the application forms for registration via the web at:

The registration is free, has an indefinite duration and may be revoked at any time.

Persons effecting telemarketing are also required by law to inform users about the existence of the register and how to subscribe to it, to avoid, so that future contacts.

criticality and failure to inform
The lack of information, inefficiencies and delays in relation to the illustration of how to subscribe to the register and the operation is limited and is inadequate to say the least, the portal dedicated to the register of the opposition, highlighting the need for a transition period.

an indispensable and crucial to users, especially older ones, especially in light of the experiences recorded in other EU countries (only two for the truth: Spain and the UK), which have adopted this system and has seen the list of objections achieve a scale only after several years of operation of this system.
